Yoga for Kids

Yoga Bugs for kids from age 3, including Junior & Senior Infants,
& Yoga*d Up for children in 1st to 6th class
Children, like adults, live a life, mainly through school, dominated by intellectual development - certainly once they begin school. Yoga allows them to retain natural balance between their physical and mental growth journeys. The greatest gift to a young child is a sense of their Higher Self, and yoga can help to foster this sense. Yogatree teachers are fully qualified and certified Yoga Bugs and Yoga’ d Up teachers.

Yoga for Kids is fun and creative
Classes are designed to
- stimulate children's powers of imagination
- teach self-expression
- boost confidence and self-esteem
- maintain their natural flexibility, and
- teach correctly breathing.

Yoga Bugs (age 3 including junior and senior infants)
Classes are designed for smaller children and offer a complete form of exercise in a safe, non-competitive environment. The children are led through creative stories and exciting adventures that stimulate their imaginations and help to maintain their natural flexibility. Whilst enjoying a variety of safe postures, the children sing songs, play games, do art and work together. The activities involve a creative combination of stretches, back arches, twists, balances and relaxation techniques. For more information please visit www.yogabugs.com
Yoga’d Up (including chidren from 1st to 6th class)
Classes are designed for the abilities and interests of older children. They are introduced to more challenging postures through fun class plans that stimulate their imaginations, help maintain/regain their flexibility and develop and improve their co-ordination. Children grow fast at this time and yoga helps them cope with their changing bodies, both physically and emotionally. Whilst enjoying a variety of postures, the children learn the importance of looking after their bodies and health in a fun and innovative manner. Yoga builds confidence by creating a balance between strength and flexibility in these pre-teen bodies. The youngsters are introduced to yoga games and partner work and learn about relaxation and stillness.
